Today we talked about how germs can spread so quickly and how we can use our arm as our germ catcher so we don't spread the germs.
We did a little experiment to see how fast germs can spread. First we asked Sreeja to wet her hand, and then Mrs Reyburn sprinkled glitter onto her hand. (The glitter was our pretend germs)
Sreeja had to choose 3 people to go and shake hands with and see if the germs (glitter) spreads to their hands.
Look what happened! The germs spread to their hands too. The next part of our experiment was to ask all of these 4 children to go and shake somebody else's hand.
We found out that by the time we counted to 60 every person had the germs on their hands. We could see that we had to use our arm as our germ catcher - or to make sure we use a tissue then wash our hands well.
